While attempting to make a cuter bunny design for another take on my "Nyan Bunny" character, I went in the opposite direction and imagined what robotic rabbits might look like. So here's my answer to that question.
This has been driving me nuts for years and still no one calls the Republicans on it. Just saw a headline today that said Bohner accused Obama of picking fake fights. I mean, COME ON, BOHNER. Anyone who has read the novel "1984" knows that politics is all about fake fights--anything to keep the politicians in office. I'm getting pretty tired of this pot-accuses-kettle politics.
Sorry to mini rant.
Here we go again with the lone red eye, but, suddenly, the eye is more face-shaped. Less circular and more oval. Regardless, it still is freaky to me.

Yeah, I hate to break it to ya, but most of the stuff we humans are afraid of every day isn't anything worth being afraid of. Odds are, if you don't die of old age, you'll die by a car accident or cancer.
This is the main villain from Arachis Hypogaea. I wonder if I should color this comic, after all. I was thinking about leaving it B&W but the color of El's tie and handkerchief has meaning. Or maybe I'll just leave some bits in color and others not?
I haven't had time to work on ?????????? at all, so the next few DEDs are going to be character drawings. You've seen them before in other DEDs, but I'm drawing them again for practice (and it's all I've got time for).

Not sure where in my mind this guy came from, but I find him kind of creepy. The lone red eye and the pointy fingers, not sure what it is. But this is a motif I'm sticking with for a while.

So, God tells us Satan is out to get us. Isn't that sort of like Donald Rumsfeld telling us that there are WMD in Iraq?

Fire trucks on 72nd in between Broadway and Columbus...
The (wrong) train arrives... I'm on the other side, man!

Here comes Margarine Man's sidekick: Butter Boy! He's made of butter and can control all butter with the power of his mind! Think of him as Ice Man only with butter (and the physics-defying ability to never run out of himself).

I love the concept of this character and the basic design, but I'm not happy that I screwed up the tub on the left. Also, from this angle, you can't *really* tell that his torso is just a tub of margarine. My thought is that he throws margarine at his enemies to mess them up. Then, he stores them in his tub until he can find a police officer to turn them over to. Note the "m" shaped hair curl on his forehead. :)

So, if God wants someone to be President of the USA, doesn't that mean the election's been fixed by God? And doesn't that make God anti-Democracy?
I'm really quite happy with this. It was a rush job, but I still drew something and it looks kinda cool. The nose isn't really finished.
Inspired by my "Cesar" action figure (from "The Cabinet of Caligari" my favorite silent film), this guy came out of my head bent, sideways, at the waist. I realized, as I drew, that if he'd been standing straight, he'd have been too tall for the page. However, the real reason for drawing him was to play with cross-hatching. I wanted to experiment with changing the direction of the cross-hatching to see how things would look.

This is always the excuse you get from Believers when you ask them how God can seem to make mistakes. What a load of crap.
This is me holding up the last coffee candy I have in my possession. I'm not getting any headaches or shakes from the lack of actual caffeine. I've drawn it freakishly large because of it's importance to me. It is my LAST ONE. I can only find them out in Jersey. I don't like going out to Jersey. Grrr...
I have a favor to ask–can you go "like" my book on Amazon, please? Just go here: thepete.com/buymybook and that will forward you to my book. Then look for the beige "like" button underneath the name of the book. While you're there, you can buy it, too or not, that's OK (it's just $12!! $3 for the Kindle version!). My understanding is that when a book on Amazon has 50 or more "likes" they start working it into their advertising.
In other news, I have just finished the bulk of the editing for Book 2 in my "TheKey Chronicle" series so, I'm hoping to have that on Amazon by the end of May. SWEET.

I wrote this back around April 9, 2012, when the Supreme Court was considering what to do about Obamacare. I think it should be junked and our entire system redone in the style of the UK's NHS. In this strip, and the one for April 24th, I explain why.
Back when I did the Panda made of circles, I had this idea to work in more blob-like shapes. The Nyan Bunnies were attempts and working in more amorphous shapes. But I'm not sure what this even is. Maybe you put him on your desk and let him hold your smartphone while it's charging?

Classic Ballpoint Adventures for February 11, 2006: Billy just killed God--what's he going to do now?
"I'm going to Disney World" seemed too predictable a joke :) And hey, check it out, I was anti-1% before it was cool to be anti-1%. (And yes, this is just a cartoon, I'm not endorsing murdering rich people... it's a J-O-K-E. Though, I would like to see more rich people in the army.

After yesterday's blob-based tank, I thought I'd try my hand at a blob boat. Alas, imagining the physics of a blob that can somehow float was difficult and I'm not super happy with this drawing. To me it looks like the barsoap navy. Ah well. Please look at some of my other drawings. Most are much better. :)
Yikes! Starting to run low on pages in my Draw Every Day sketchbook! Must get another one in 8 days or Earth is doomed!
Ok, Earth won't be doomed but I'll be out of pages!!!!

OK. Domain Registry of America REALLY needs to stop sending me their mailings...especially all at once.
I'm not going to use their service anyway and sending me three mailings for my other domains only makes me want to not use their service three times as much!

Not much to say about this one beyond that I was feeling some seriously heavy emotions while I drew this. I guess it shows you how "in control" I still try to be even when feeling such emotions.

I drew this back while the Supreme Court was considering whether to strike down Obamacare completely or just strike parts of it. Regardless, I had things to be said. Sadly, I was swamped with work and avoiding sickness, so I couldn't draw the next two strips in the series, or even post this one until today, 4/23/12.
This is probably my worst drawing so far. I can't begin to list the number of ways I'm not happy with it. To top it all off, I spelled "conniving" wrong on the drawing. >_<

Went out to my favorite park one warm afternoon to discover the trees have yet to grow back their leaves (or even start to). So, I thought I'd draw one.

I started drawing this guy just as he decided to walk away. Literally. I started with the brim of his cap and then, after being there for a half hour, he left. >_< So, he's from memory and everything else is my interpretation of what was in front of me.
I don't think so...

Oh wait, it's just the cat.

OK, crappy name, but you got something better? I wanted to draw a robot business man, but got to the waist and realized I was going to draw some seriously boring legs, so I decided to go in the opposite direction. Pretty cool, I think.
